Marquis (ponazuril) Antiprotozoal Oral Paste is approved for the treatment of EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis). Marquis Antiprotozoal Oral Paste contains the antiprotozoal compound ponazuril. Each gram of contains 150 mg of ponazuril.
The recommended dosage of Marquis is 5 mg per kg (2.27 mg per lb.) body weight once daily for 28 days, given orally.
Each ready-to-use syringe of Marquis contains 127 g, which will treat a 1,200 lb. horse for seven days. Plunger contains a dosage ring calibrated for dose rate of weight.
