Rx Tetra-Bac 324 is a broad-spectrum tetracycline hydrochloride soluble powder formulated for the control and treatment of bacterial infections in swine, calves, chickens, and turkeys. Each pound contains 324 g of tetracycline HCl, providing a low-cost, effective solution for common livestock diseases.

Indications:
- Swine & Calves: Bacterial enteritis (scours) caused by Escherichia coli, bacterial pneumonia associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella spp., and Klebsiella spp.
- Chickens: Chronic respiratory disease (CRD), air sac disease caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and E. coli, infectious synovitis caused by Mycoplasma synoviae
- Turkeys: Infectious synovitis (Mycoplasma synoviae) and bluecomb (transmissible enteritis) complicated by tetracycline-susceptible organisms
Dosage & Administration:
- Swine & Calves: 10 mg tetracycline HCl per lb body weight per day in divided doses via drinking water for 3–5 days
- Chickens: 400–800 mg per gallon for CRD and air sac disease; 200–400 mg per gallon for infectious synovitis via drinking water for 7–14 days
- Turkeys: 400 mg per gallon for infectious synovitis; 25 mg/lb body weight per day for bluecomb in drinking water for 7–14 days
- For baby pigs and calves: Administer one hour before or two hours after feeding milk/milk replacer. Always provide clean, unmedicated water.
Mixing Directions:
Dissolve 1 level scoop (1.26 oz) in warm water to prepare stock solutions for metering into drinking water:
- 200 mg/gallon – 1 scoop in 1 gallon (128 gallons treated)
- 400 mg/gallon – 1 scoop in 0.5 gallon (64 gallons treated)
- 800 mg/gallon – 1 scoop in 0.25 gallon (32 gallons treated)
Residue Warnings:
- Swine: Do not slaughter within 4 days of treatment
- Calves: Do not slaughter within 5 days of treatment; not for pre-ruminating calves intended for veal
- Chickens & Turkeys: Not for use in birds producing eggs for human consumption; do not slaughter within 4 days of treatment
Caution:
- Do not medicate for more than 5 consecutive days in swine and calves
- Prepare fresh solution daily (or every 12 hours for galvanized waterers)
- Use as sole source of tetracycline
- Monitor response; reconsider diagnosis if no improvement within 3 days
Storage:
Store between 59–86°F (15–30°C) in a dry place.
